2021 Predictions

I am thinking about my travel predications for 2021 and wanted to share two with you this week! Here you go!

My first prediction is that land vacations will be more popular than ever. Since we're not sure when cruising will return and what that'll look like, I am thinking that land vacations will be a travel trend in 2021. Think all inclusive resorts, exotic island destinations and custom packages to far away lands. And, know that just because I came from an agency that had the word "cruise" in it's name, doesn't mean I don't book these types of trips. Some of the most memorable trips I've created have been land only! Like I mentioned above, there ARE promos and specials on land vacations during this time of year and are not limited to just cruises.

My second prediction is with regards to cruising. I wrote in depth a few months back about how I think cruising will change/look post pandemic. And, I think all of those things will hold true, but what about timeline? When will cruising resume? I went to a travel conference in November and based on feedback there, I am thinking that we'll see cruising return around the time Alaska season, which will start around May. Again, I don't think cruising will look the same, I just think we'll start to see some ships on the water around that time of year. The cruise companies are working super hard to put processes and procedures in place to make cruising as safe as ever and they're anxious to get back out there. But, I think Alaska will be the beginning, being so close to home and all.
