Cruising, What Not to Pack
Blow dryer - all staterooms these days should have a semi-decent blow dryer, so leave yours behind. UNLESS you have one that you MUST use....OR if the ship is older and the one's they provide are ancient.
Beach towels - they're bulky and take up a ton of room. so put them back in the linen closet. Towels are easily accessible on the ship and often you're good to go if you need to take one off ship for an excursion. Just remember to return them when you're done.
Power strip - I mentioned this in my last email. Cruise lines ARE confiscating power strips. I know it sucks that there are like TWO outlets in each stateroom. But....cruise lines are catching up with the times and new builds are seeming to have more. Also consider a USB hub as per my previous email.
Over the door shoe hanger - once a great way to keep your stateroom organized - a space for everything and no clutter. But, recently, cruise lines have been cracking down on hanging these over the main entry. And, sometimes, they just don't even fit.
Food - there's no shortage of food on a ship. So, there's no real reason to bring stacks of snacks with you. UNLESS there's something that's a complete must have or for dietary needs. And you probably know the drill of no fruits or veggies.
Valuables - leave anything of value locked in a safe back home. If it'll be on you at all times or with you at all times, then MAYBE. Otherwise just don't risk it.
Well, there you have it! Super simple. What are some things that you leave behind when cruising? Were they once a must have but you've figured out a better solution?
