Reasons to book an interior stateroom...
A few months back I chatted about why you should consider a balcony on a cruise. This week I thought that I’d flip the script and talk about why you should consider an interior stateroom. Let’s go!
Save money - This is the biggest plus to booking an interior stateroom - you can save anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand of dollars as compared to a balcony. Take a close look at the savings and determine if those dollars saved would be better spent elsewhere - like shore excursions!
It’s dark - Are you a heavy sleeper and like it pitch dark? Well, an interior might be right for you! No wake up calls from the sun to be had here. Just remember to bring a plug in nightlight for a tad of illumination if you need.
Less motion - Some say that an interior on a lower deck will experience less motion! So, if you’re nervous about the movement of the ship, consider this. With my help, we’ll try to get you where you need without being SO low on the ship that you feel engines or equipment below you.
Sleep and shower only - I hear this one all the time, “I’m only going to be in my room to sleep and shower only.” I say AWESOME! Get out and explore the ship! Find a perfect place to relax and read a book that’s NOT in your room. Enjoy a cocktail at that lesser known bar. Find a hidden spot that others seem to not know about!
Some cool features - Interior cabins these days can actually be of a pretty decent size - I hear this often about Carnival, Celebrity and Disney. Other lines like Royal have VIRTUAL balconies in their interior rooms - a “window” with real time views of the exterior. Norwegian has interior studio rooms perfect for solo travelers, complete with private lounge!
Tell me, are you an interior stateroom cruiser? If so, what do you love about it? Is there something that I missed that you’d add to this list?
Until next time!
