Why you should use a travel agent...
When people ask what I do and I tell them travel agent, I'm normally met with the question..."oh those still exist?!"
The short answer is YES! And, I give the almighty internet a run for its money. I KNOW this because I used to work at one of the mega online agencies!
So, why should you use me as your agent? How can I offer you something that the internet doesn't provide? Let's look a bit closer!
You’re really busy! I once heard the statistic that the average time spent planning a trip can be somewhere between 10 and 20 hours. Yes, you heard that right. If you like scouring the internet for days, I say - go for it, have fun! But, if you want your TIME back, that’s where I come in. After all you have a life, kids, work, Netflix and chill.
You don’t want to be stressed. Another crazy stat - when DIY’ing a trip, 38 sites are visited before booking. That number alone stresses me out. But, I totally get it - we live in an info overload age and seem to be obsessed with reviews. Just ask yourself - do you TRUST a complete stranger’s review from three years ago, or a pro who has the inside scoop?
You want to make the most of your money! Give me a budget and I’ll make sure every single dollar is spent wisely - from air and hotel to excursions. Can you plug your budget and preferences into a website and get a CUSTOM to you result that SAVES money? I have connections to make this happen.
You like feeling special. Sometimes there are values I can pass on to you that not every Joe Schmo is getting. Again, the power of connections. Upgrades, free breakfast, resort/ship credits, etc. I also have a direct line to your hotel’s concierge or manager, service rep while you’re on a ship or excursion operator that has red carpet style accesses. Don’t you want to feel like a VIP?
Your vaca time is precious! Think about relaxing on the beach or exploring Europe with your family on your long awaited vacation. Do you want to RISK those moments and vacation days by piecing something together based on a friend of a friends recommendation? And what if something were to go wrong? Do you want to be on the phone trying to call that .com or know someone’s already on it?
In closing, if you like putting in the work, DIY’ing, and everything that comes with it, I say go for it and I support you! If the above sounds good to you, that’s why I’m here and do what I do.
Until next time!
